bus blind

I thought it would be a good idea to show the places I visited to make my kitchen makeover possible.  To accomplish that I made a bus blind showing the destinations.

Materials:  cutting mat, utility knife, museum board, frame, clear plastic film, spray adhesive, double stick tape, heavy duty staple gun and prints.

For the writing part I used 8.5 x 11 sheets.  It is better to have the size frame you want first so that you can plan the size sheets you would need to accommodate your writing.  I wanted a slim frame so I made my own.  I used canvas stretcher bars,( two 14″ and two 24″) to make my frame.  I first used regular paper to print my sheets, but didn’t like the off black background so I used photo paper instead.  This is completely up to you.

I cut off the white borders and adhere the sheets to my already cut to size board.

I cut the clear plastic film to size and attached it to the board by using double stick tape.  I suggest you place the tape at the edges so that when you put the frame on the tape is covered by the width of the frame.

Then place the frame.  you can either glue the board to the frame or staple it, if you have a heavy duty staple gun.

You can leave the frame in its natural color.  I painted mine white because I want it to blend in with the wall.  And that’s it, my store destination bus blind.

Have fun making yours!!

  1. Very cool, the kitchen looks amazing! great work, i wish i had the energy to do mine :/

    1. Thanks! energy is not the problem; once you find a way to start you don’t know when to stop; but finding time…that my friend is the problem.

      1. Love this wonderful idea; I won’t have come up with an idea like this. I love it.
